Fingering Yarn

Also called sock yarn, fingering weight yarn is light, thin, and versatile. This superfine yarn is perfect for projects like summer shawls and lightweight sweaters. Two strands of fingering weight yarn can be combined to make the equivalent of one strand of DK yarn.

Note: although the terms fingering weight and sock weight are often used interchangeably, not all fingering yarn is good for socks. The best sock yarn is reinforced with a synthetic fibre like nylon for added durability.
