Carol P, owner of Rave Stitches and The Wool ‘N’ Frog, has always been creative. She learned to knit and sew as a child. When her children were young, she sewed a lot of their clothing, as well as her own. She also worked as a hairdresser, which made another great outlet for her creativity.

Although her mother taught her basic knitting stitches, she didn’t really get into working with yarn until 2016, when she learned about hand-dyed yarn. She was fascinated and had to try making it for herself.

Now she has two businesses: Rave Stitches (her line of homemade project bags) and The Wool ‘N’ Frog (her hand-dyed yarn and accessories business). They allow her to have the best of both worlds: playing with beautiful fabric and dyeing gorgeous yarns for people to create things with.

Carol takes her inspiration from the world around her.

My inspiration comes from pictures, online, in nature—almost anything can inspire a colour for me.

She loves to dye yarn and send it out into the world. It allows her to dye as much as she wants, without worrying about using all the yarn herself.

Now I get so much more joy out of my creativity, as I dye it and others make amazing projects.

She enjoys sharing her creativity with the world and enabling others to do the same.

What’s next for Rave Stitches and The Wool ‘N’ Frog? Carol recently opened a Wool ‘N’ Frog storefront in Medicine Hat and has dreams of opening her own studio and sharing her creations on a larger scale. We’re thrilled that she’s partnered with us to share her work and we can’t wait to see what she creates next!
